Bringing Tse Dup Yang Bod Soul Healing to the West

TSE DUP YANG BOD is indigenous Tibetan Bon Soul Healing through the balancing of the five main elements. Tse means life force. Dup means to intensify. Yang refers to the energetic essence of the LA or soul, life force and five elements and Bod means to call or retrieve through respectful practice.

As a young child at Menri monastery, Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche had witnessed many powerful healings.  Rinpoche has said that this is what prompted him to become a specialist in this once SECRET and very SPECIALIZED Tse Dup Soul Healing rituals.  In 2008 he brought these teachings to the United States at the request and with the blessing of His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima, the 33rd Menri Trizin.

This teaching originated in the 7th century text, “Tse Dup Jha Ri Ma.” The “Tse Dup Jha Ri Ma” is the basis for this deep form of LA healing, Rinpoche went much further, studying many other books in the Cannon including Bon medical texts to bring other information on the 5 external and internal elements, how the LA and life force energies travel through the subtle channels in the body, relating to 5 major organs, and how the mind informs the energies of LA.

For these reasons stated above, Tse Dup Soul Healing should not be confused with Soul Retrieval. Although Soul Healing incorporates Soul Retrieval, Soul Healing goes more deeply into healing at the root of the issue, whether it be emotional, mental, physical or spiritual. etc. There are numerous names of Soul Retrieval, Soul Healing, Soul Ransom, Tse Dup La Guk, Tse Dup La Guk and Tse Dup healing. These are all parts of the Tse Dup Yang Bod Soul Healing but they are very different than the Tse Dup Yang Bod Soul Healing method of the teaching, This Tse Dup Yang Bod Soul Healing compiled by Chongtul Rinpoche goes deeper in to the details of East, North, West, South and Central integrated into the external, and internal 5 elements and the Ngondro 9 preliminary practice is integrated into the teaching.

To practice these rituals, one must successfully complete the first 3-year requirements (including studying, practicing, oral exams and recitations.) Specifically, the 3-year requirements are 70% of Ngondro and recitations of the Tse Dup Yang Bod healing ritual. Recitation amounts will be given at each teaching. Once this is completed the practitioner will receive the certification and empowerment of Drup Shen from Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche. This allows the practitioner to perform public healings certified by Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche.

A practitioner may be invited to study years 4 and 5 with Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche. Upon successful completion of the following 4th and 5th year curriculum requirements, including successful completion of the Ngondro and recitations and exams. This certification and empowerment is one of becoming a Lopon. This degree, said to be the equivalent of the western MA in Tibetan Spirituality, allows the practitioner to teach Tse Dup Yang Bod according to the vision of Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche and will be certified by Rinpoche.
